About the Northern Victoria Region
Northern Victoria Region covers a large area stretching from Mildura to Corryong, down to the outskirts of Melbourne, from broadacre farms to busy shopping centres. The main regional cities of Northern Victoria are Bendigo, Mildura, Swan Hill, Shepparton and Wodonga.
Northern Victoria is the largest electoral region in Victoria, spanning just over 100,000 square kilometres and covering nearly half the state.
The lower house districts that make up the region are Benambra, Bendigo East, Bendigo West, Eildon, Euroa, Macedon, Mildura, Murray Plains, Ovens Valley, Shepparton and Yan Yean.
The region’s major employment sectors include health care and social assistance, construction, retail trade, education and training and manufacturing.
Northern Victoria has some of the most productive agricultural land in the state, which services Australian and international food markets.
